We have a passion for telling stories and creating unique gastronomic experiences that allow people to connect through food. Join us for our authentic, one-of-a-kind tours and experience Santa Fe through the eyes of a local. 

Our premium immersive, small-group food & history tours allow our guests to experience Santa Fe's unique food culture, rich flavors, and intriguing history. We sample the best of Santa Fe food & drink, while exploring hidden corners of the city and learning why it is truly the City Different.

Lauren
Managing Director / Tour Guide

Lauren made her first delicious adventure to The City Different 20+ years ago, before finally -- and joyfully-- settling here.

Following culinary school in her native New York City, the adopted New Mexican cut her teeth at acclaimed venues Blue Hill at Stone Barns and Gramercy Tavern before heading west where she has spent her time as a private chef specializing in local cuisines, teaching private cooking lessons, coaching the Santa Fe High School culinary team to victory and sharing her passion for Santa Fe’s historic and creative “bright food” culture.

She now devotes her full time efforts to running operations, guiding tours and creating new immersive experiences to satisfy all the desires of passionate food lovers (“foodies-ugh) and cultural explorers visiting the City Different. Lauren lives with her “Cowboy Corgi” Pearl.

Founder and Tour Guide

Joe was inspired to launch Wander New Mexico in 2016 after dreaming for several years about starting a travel business while working as a management consultant in Dubai and San Francisco. Like many, he was drawn to the breathtaking landscapes, rich culture and history, and unexpected discoveries in this special corner of the earth (and marrying into a third generation New Mexican family also helped!). 

Making, eating, and learning about food & drink is Joe's passion! Before moving to Santa Fe, he lived and traveled around the country and the globe, visiting over 80 countries. Five years in Dubai gave him the opportunity to travel around the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia and sample delicacies like Cambodian fish head soup, Ethiopian injera bread, and Moroccan tajine. A stint in San Francisco sparked his passion for wine, and he loves exploring the excellent, and lesser-known wine scene in New Mexico. He's also a homebrewer, and enjoys experimenting with local ingredients and brewing seasonal speciality beers for friends and family.
